Last Term of The Year Review

Term 4....
Term 4 was probably my favourite term because obviously it's the last term and we have so much time out of the classroom which means less work and more games. And I am pretty sure its the shortest term of the year.

This term I have been put in the highest level and groups for everthing. It has been a real challenge and I hope all the stuff we have learnt helps me with all the tough learning next year. But this term we haven't done a lot of group work because we have done a lot of things out of the classroom.

Sport...
The main sport event this term was Athletics. The thing I did the best in was probably high jump. I don't know how high I jumped but I did the best I have ever done. We have just started learning how to play Ki o Rahi. Ki o Rahi is a traditional maori sports game.

This term we had the Kapa Haka Festival and I was in the second row of boys. At the start the girls were at the front because they do Poi first. In Utaina Mai the boys come to the front for the HAKA! There is no placings at the Kapa Haka Festival because it is not a competition.

Overall I really enjoyed Term 4 because we had heaps of time out of the classroom and did lots of fun activities outside and inside the classroom.

Kapa Haka Fest

As all of Nui walked onto the huge stage at 11:15 I felt sick in my stomach, I was so nervous to sing infront of like 150 people. The guitar started and the Kaea started singing. The first song we sung was Tu Mai Ra to form our triangle. We were eventually in the shape and went down. Now we were all singing our school song, Takahia with our fists. In that HUGE hall it sounded like you were the only one singing.

Now we were on to Utaina Mai which the boys come to the front in and the girls go to the back for the HAKA. I was super nervous because I'm pretty close to the front. And in second row you move to the side to get in a gap so EVERYONE could see me. Ok...
Now it was time for the Haka.
